Sculpture - Small acrylic torso

My latest creation! This is available in different shades and different colours. Very pretty! As the daylight changes, it catches on different angles of the sculpture.
20cm tall.

Available at €125 + postage.

Sketch - 10 minute sketches

I just love life-drawing! I find the quicker sketches just dont allow time to get lost in the details. They are just so honest!

Oil painting - Blues night scene

Oil painting measuring 50x70cm. This blues/jazz scene was inspired by a picture of a Chicago night scene. I used the image as my starting point to create this abstraction.

Model - conte and charcoal

Living on the edge! This conte and charcoal sketch was a lot of fun :-)

sculpture - tile

This is my favourite sculpture of this year. Probably because it was an open brief. The only instruction was to start with a thick slab of clay and cut away to end up with a design. I refered to a work by Picasso (blue). The model looks to be rising out of or sinking into the clay. At this stage it is drying until it is ready for the kiln. The mould is still in good shape and therefore I will use it to either make a plaster or cement image next. The size of the tile is a bit larger than an A4 sheet of paper.

Sculpture - plaster portrait

This plaster portrait took a long time. I enjoyed creating the possitive image in clay but the mould and then the final piece in plaster were a disaster. She was removed from the mould with her nose and part of her mouth missing. I have repaired her but I am not happy with the end result. The photo does not show her imperfections. Maybe I should admit at this point that I am a perfectionist and a control freak :-)
